Happy Accidents

The weather here in Philadelphia is absolutely gorgeous! I spent much of the morning weeding which is my least favorite garden chore. In fact, I dislike weeding so much that I often will just leave the weed alone "to see what it will become". I now have a beautiful tree growing along the fence for just that reason. In a burst of ambition, I started to dig out the heart shaped ground cover that has invaded my flowers beds. However, it only took 10 minutes of tedious digging for me to decide that maybe it doesn't look that bad after all. My first shipment from White Flower Farm arrived today. Carpet Thyme which I am planting in the raised flower bed at the front of the fence. I also planted the helleborus (lenten roses) underneath the kid's fort. Next year they should bloom in February which will be a lovely treat.
